painting party results

I’ve never made a painting before. At least not on canvas, and the last time I painting anything was probably my house back in 5th grade. I know a little bit about good images, but not everything transfers so well in painting terms, so I don’t even know if this is good or not, but I like it, and since I don’t make a living by painting, that’s plenty good enough for me.

fall “colors”

I went on a hike/photowalk thing today with Jordan, Alyson, Sarah, and Beth to photograph the fall colors. Instead I got one mediocre fall color shot, and 28 portraits that I was quite pleased with. Obviously I’ll be a little more selective in my uploads, so as not to bore you. Enjoy the photos.

Just a quick word about this photo. This is a characteristic of some of my favorite shots. There’s a certain kind of smile that most people have that comes out very often. It is at once very shy, but also very genuine and happy. It’s a little bit different from person to person and there’s no way to force it to come out, but when it does, for some reason I just really enjoy it. I have such photos of many of my friends, and very few strangers. I think it is most common only in some kind of familiarity.

odds and ends

Kind of an odd post. I just got home from one of the best concerts I’ve ever seen (Me Without You, Thrice, Brand New), but no cameras were allowed. I’ve got some headshots I did the other day I can show you, but I’ll wait until I have some time to sort and edit them. These shots are just some random candids from a painting party we had the other night. Enjoy.
