Chicago

Millions of people live in Chicago, and the ones I’m staying with tonight just happen to live in the only neighborhood in this whole city I’m really familiar with. Very strange.

The night was great though. Arrived in Chicago a little early, got a parking ticket even though the meter was paid up (apparently, elsewhere, it was posted that there’s no parking there during rush hour). Went to the venue, and helped load gear in during what I can only describe as a typhoon coming off of Lake Michigan (or Indiana). The show was great. The opening acts did a superb job, and I was most impressed by Helen Money, who is a solo cellist who loops and distorts and does all sorts of impossible things with her cello.

Then Atomica took the stage, and as always, they dominated. In a very mellow, relaxing sort of way, although I have to speculate that their set has become a bit more edgy since I saw them last May. Very good stuff.

Alright, it’s 2:30 and we leave for Cleveland at 11, so I’m going to sleep. Keep on keepin’ on everyone.

They don’t call it the Windy City for nothing…

The photo uploader thing is having issues

    This should be sorted out.
